Gateway Mall is the largest enclosed shopping center in northern Saskatchewan. Located at the busiest city intersection of highway 2 and highway 302, it has daily traffic volumes of 24,000 vehicles. It also anchors a vibrant business district with 3,000 employees working in the downtown core and is located in a cultural incubator adjacent to the Mann Art Gallery, EA Rawlinson Centre, Seniors Centre, and numerous historical landmarks. Built in 1981, this one-level community center functions more like a regional center serving the largest trade area in the province comprised of 195,000 people, who rely heavily on the City for their retail needs. Gateway Mall features a mix of both national and local stores and services including The Brick, Urban Planet, and Ardene as well as CJ’s Climb and Play, the city’s only indoor children’s play center. The center has 1,250 parking stalls, a food court, an infant changing area, public washrooms, an instant teller, a change machine, a car boosting station, and pay phones for its patrons.
